Music Academy

Music, which uplifts the spirit and brings joy to all, is at the core of our institution. We are so glad we can always hear music in the corridors of our school! Our curriculum integrates music into the daily life of each student at Brilliant Stars. Over 80% of our students play at least one instrument which they learn on-site. Listening to music, practicing an instrument, and performing with and for others can have many positive influences on our students such as building confidence, enhancing attention to detail, nurturing cognitive development, and even improving the ability to learn math! 

In-house Instrumental Tuition

At Brilliant Stars, we have students playing the cello, piano, recorder, guitar, and violin! In our primary school, over 80% of our students are learning to play an instrument at school, many of whom play a second instrument!  We have in-house instrumental teachers, many of whom hold a PhD and have a range of international experience both in performance and education!

During times of closure, our entire instrumental music tuition programme is moved online in order to ensure our students continue to grow their musical abilities despite the circumstances. 

Musical Workshops by Professionals

We regularly have music workshops with performing musicians ranging from an afternoon with a saxophonist to children’s opera.

Cultural & Historical Awareness

At Brilliant Stars, we have developed a cultural and historical curriculum for our students. Through this curriculum, students develop their awareness and auditory consciousness of music and artists from around the world throughout time. This not only gives them a historical understanding of the development of the arts, but also builds their familiarity with various cultures, instruments, timbres, and musical styles from around the world.

 

School Orchestra

Our students have many opportunities to foster intergenerational connection and shared joy through the universal language of music, many of which take place through our school orchestra!

In-house Concerts

Concerts happen in-person and even online! We hold a number of in-house concerts for students of all ages and abilities to share their music with their friends and wider families. This is an excellent opportunity to explore their creativity, build their confidence, and bring joy to others through music!

I have two children at Brilliant Stars' and I am delighted with the care and approach of all of the staff towards childcare and education in the early years. Both my children are flourishing under their academic, social and moral guidance. My older child has loved the use of Jolly Phonics (a UK approach to teaching literacy) as a learning tool and enjoys his numeracy, science, art and music lessons. The kindergarten also offers a wide variety of extra activites and has a lending library. Finally, and one of the key reasons why I chose this kindergarten, is that the head teacher is an inspiration to everyone involved with the kindergarten - very proactive, accommodating, hands-on and very focused on the children and what is best for them. I can highly recommend this kindergarten and given the high standard they have set can only expect their new Stupava branch to be just as good.
