Environmental Awareness

Respect and love for nature and all living creatures are some of the integral values that are taught daily at our school and kindergarten. We have integrated learning about sustainable living into our curriculum and involve our students in action. We are very pleased to see the enthusiasm of the young generation in caring for the environment and their involvement in preserving it. In our kindergarten and school, we have implemented many measures to protect the planet. Now we are focused on inspiring and motivating others around us!

Eco-Committee

To have a space for sharing our thoughts and ideas on how to help and protect the environment, we have established the Eco-Committee consisting of students, teachers, parents, and other staff. The Eco-Committee meets at least once a month for a morning meeting.

A closer look at some of the environmental activities we organise and take part in at Brilliant Stars.

Certified Natural Garden

"Children have a paradise here." - Richard Medal (Director of o. z. Centrum environmentálnych aktivít)

In 2021 we received our Natural Garden certificate! We are so pleased to join this initiative to create natural safe havens for insects and animals in the city! Not only is this an exceptional educational opportunity for our students to learn about and to experience more natural ecosystems in the city, but the lack of peat and readily soluble fertilizers and pesticides coupled with the addition of a pond, insect homes, and many beneficial florae is creating a safer and cleaner environment for our students, staff, and parents.

Do you still remember the excited eyes and hunger for new knowledge and skills that are so typical of kindergarteners? When searching for a school, retaining the love of learning was our top criteria. That’s why we came to Brilliant Stars. Hearing children chatter fluently in English at the end of Kindergarten, was a great achievement. Not being a bilingual family, we considered that as one of the main objectives and it was met. I have two children at Brilliant Stars' and I am delighted with the care and approach of all of the staff towards childcare and education in the early years. Both my children are flourishing under their academic, social and moral guidance. My older child has loved the use of Jolly Phonics (a UK approach to teaching literacy) as a learning tool and enjoys his numeracy, science, art and music lessons. The kindergarten also offers a wide variety of extra activites and has a lending library. Finally, and one of the key reasons why I chose this kindergarten, is that the head teacher is an inspiration to everyone involved with the kindergarten - very proactive, accommodating, hands-on and very focused on the children and what is best for them. I can highly recommend this kindergarten and given the high standard they have set can only expect their new Stupava branch to be just as good.

I think Brilliant start gives children 'active learning', and teachers know how to support children's Curiosity. I can see that my children are having good time. Because my children can't stop speaking what they have done today with big smile when I pick them up after school.
