Parent Spaces
At Brilliant Stars, we believe that education is strongest when school and family work in close partnership. Parents are an important part of our learning community, and we aim to create regular spaces where families can connect, ask questions, share experiences, and explore how to support children’s intellectual, social, moral, and emotional development.
Our parent spaces take different forms throughout the year, from informal coffee mornings to larger education conferences, toddler sessions, committee meetings, and individual conversations with teachers and school leadership. Together, these opportunities help strengthen the connection between home, school, and the wider community around our children.
Coffee Mornings and Afternoons
Throughout the school year, we hold regular coffee mornings and afternoons for parents. These informal gatherings provide a welcoming space to meet other families, speak with members of the school team, and discuss questions related to parenting, education, and child development.
Bi-Annual Education Conferences
Twice a year, Brilliant Stars hosts an Education Conference for parents, educators, and members of our wider learning community. These half-day conferences are subsidised as part of our commitment to supporting families and creating meaningful opportunities for shared learning.
Each conference brings together practical workshops, guest speakers, and thoughtful discussion on themes connected to children’s development, learning, character, and preparation for life beyond school. Recent topics have included developing curiosity and independence, cultivating scientific inquiry, building a mathematical mind, learning about money and values, movement and brain development, and helping children grow in responsibility and confidence. All Brilliant Stars parents will be notified of such spaces and are always welcome to join.
These conferences offer parents and educators a chance to reflect together, gain practical ideas, and consider how small, consistent habits at home and in school can support children’s growth. These spaces are an opportunity to learn more about education and parenting and explore how, together as a parenting community, we can assist each other to raise our children.
Parent Involvement in Community Initiatives
Parent Meetings and Open Communication
In addition to group spaces, parents have regular opportunities to meet individually with their child’s teachers to discuss learning, development, and next steps. Our school leadership also maintains an open-door approach for parents who wish to speak about their child’s education or wider school experience.
We value ongoing communication and believe that strong relationships between parents, teachers, and the school create a more supportive environment for every child.
'Toddler Time' at Brilliant Stars
Our Brilliant Stars Toddler Group welcomes families with children aged 1 to 3 and is open to the wider community.
The group offers young children time to explore through play, enjoy singing and simple group activities, and begin experiencing a gentle social setting. For parents, it is also a chance to connect with other families, spend time in the school environment, and become part of a warm and supportive community.
The Toddler Group takes place on Mondays from 8:45 to 10:15. Families interested in joining are welcome to contact us for more information.
